Scheiblingturm (6)

ScheiblingturmBack on the promenade we continue alongside the pond (Frauenteich), which was once built for flooding the city moat. The 21m high tower Scheiblingturm (at the new footbridge) was constructed for the protection of the water inlet in the same period as the Dechanthofturm, 1444-47. The reconstructed wall-walk at 7 m height shows the former fortification on the inner city wall. A view through the trellised gate shows the outer ward and the outer garden.   Wehrgang
